Former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is reportedly interested in replacing Gareth Southgate as the coach of the England national team.
Southgate's future in England is now the hot topic after Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
The 53-year-old has led England to consecutive European Cup finals as well as the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
Although a big trophy is left for the three lions, the football association is still eyeing Southgate to lead the country to the 2026 World Cup which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
However, his current contract expires in December and it is now up to Southgate to decide if he wants to extend the deal.
After Sunday's heartbreak in Berlin, Southgate revealed he would need to "talk to the right people" about whether to remain England manager.
While Southgate has yet to make a decision, there is already a lot of talk about who could replace him if he steps down.
According to The Sun, Tuchel is interested in replacing Southgate after he was previously linked with the England job after the 2022 World Cup.
Although no contact has been made with the FA, Tuchel would like to try his hand at international management for the first time in his career.
Tuchel, who won the 2020-21 Champions League with Chelsea, is currently unemployed after leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season.
Graham Potter, too, is now the favorite to replace Southgate.
Potter, who replaced Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, is still looking for his next role since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is seen as another candidate, but the Magpies are reluctant to part with the 46-year-old.
Similarly, former Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino and former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp have also been linked with a move to the national team, and are part of the list of coaches who can replace Southgate.
